Bio of Dr. Miryam Z. Wahrman Dr. Miryam Z. Wahrman attended Yeshiva University High School in Manhattan and received a B.A. in Biology from Hunter College. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Cornell University and completed postdoctoral training at Cornell University Medical College, Sloan-Kettering Institute and Rockefeller University.
At Mount Sinai Medical Center she was a member of the In Vitro Fertilization team which produced the first test-tube baby in New York. Dr. Wahrman is currently Director of General Education and Professor of Biology at William Paterson University of New Jersey where she also served as Chair of the Biology Department. She has done research and published in the areas of reproductive biology, cancer, genetic engineering and marine biotechnology.
She has recently presented talks at the International Conference on Feminism and Orthodoxy and the Annual Conference of the Association of Orthodox Jewish Scientists. Dr. Wahrman is also Science Correspondent for the New Jersey Jewish Standard and the Jewish Community News.
